What does it mean to be a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow?

Being a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow means that you have a passion for civic engagement and public service. Fellows pride themselves on being life-long learners and seeking out new opportunities to improve civic health wherever they are. There is a strong sense of community that comes with being a Fellow, and members develop life-long connections in both their professional and personal lives, wherever they end up.

Who can apply? When can you apply? Are there specific major requirements?

Anyone is welcome to apply to be a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow! All majors are welcome and we encourage anyone interested in public service to apply. Applications for the Fall 2024 class are now open and close on March 31. Apply! 

When are General Body Meetings (GBMs)?

Our general body meetings are held bi-weekly at 6 p.m. on Thursdays.

What is expected of me as a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow?

As a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow, you are xpected to actively engage in various activities that promote civic engagement and community involvement. Your role would encompass:

    1. Ambassadorship: Represent the Bob Graham Center with pride and professionalism, serving as a face of the organization both on and off-campus.
    2. Promotion of Civic Engagement: Actively promote the importance of civic engagement among your peers and within the community through various initiatives and activities.
    3. Tabling on Campus: Regular participation in tabling events on campus, where you’ll engage with fellow students, disseminate information about the Graham Center’s mission, and encourage involvement in its programs and events.
    4. Event Assistance: Assist in organizing and executing events hosted by the Graham Center, providing logistical support, facilitating activities, and ensuring successful programs.
    5. Community Service Projects: Participate in community service projects organized or supported by the Graham Center, contributing your time and effort to make a positive impact in the local community.
    6. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow Ambassadors and the Graham Center’s faculty and staff to brainstorm ideas, plan activities, and effectively execute initiatives aimed at fulfilling the organization’s mission.
    7. Continuous Learning and Growth: You will seize opportunities for personal and professional development offered by the Graham Center, such as workshops, seminars, and training sessions, to enhance your leadership and communication skills, as well as your understanding of civic issues.

Overall, as a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow, you’ll play a vital role in fostering a culture of civic engagement, social responsibility, and community service both on campus and beyond.
