What does it mean to be a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow?

Being a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow means joining a community of students passionate about civic engagement and public service. Fellows are lifelong learners who seek opportunities to strengthen civic health on campus and in the broader community. Along the way, Fellows build meaningful relationships and professional connections that often last well beyond their time at UF.

Who can apply? Are there major requirements?

Any University of Florida undergraduate student may apply. Students from all majors are welcome, and we encourage anyone interested in civic engagement and public service to apply. Applications for the Fall 2025 cohort are open now and close on March 30.

When are General Body Meetings (GBMs)?

General Body Meetings are held biweekly on Thursdays at 6 p.m. These meetings include planning upcoming events, professional development workshops, and discussions about current issues in public service and civic life.

What is expected of a Bob Graham Center Student Fellow?

Student Fellows serve as ambassadors for the Bob Graham Center and play an active role in advancing its mission of civic engagement and public service. Expectations include:

Ambassadorship and Engagement

  • Represent the Graham Center at campus events and outreach opportunities
  • Participate in tabling, voter registration initiatives, and event support
  • Assist with program setup, logistics, and promotion

Committee Participation
Fellows serve on one of four committees that lead key initiatives:

  • Community Engagement: Develop voter registration efforts and community service opportunities
  • Public Programs: Plan Fellows-led public events that inform and engage the community
  • Internal Affairs: Organize professional development workshops and social activities for Fellows
  • Communications: Create flyers, social media posts, and written content to promote Fellows initiatives

Through these activities, Fellows collaborate with peers, faculty, and staff while gaining leadership experience and contributing to a stronger culture of civic engagement at UF.
